I understand the draw of the islands, having arrived here in the 1980's, lured by the many ocean activities and active outdoor lifestyle.   Being a windsurfing enthusiast, cyclist, and general outdoor activities participant, I was lucky to be able to enjoy both land and ocean (mauka-makai) activities here on Maui.

Once I arrived on Maui, I became appreciative of its many cultural facets and dedicated the next thirty years of my life embracing the Hawaiian Culture, including studying the Hawaiian language, growing native Hawaiian plants for my own yard and habitat restoration projects, and volunteering with the youth activities at Hawaiian Canoe Club.
